Situated off Union Avenue in serene Saratoga Springs, New York, Saratoga Race Course is a 360-acre track with a relatively short six-week racing season that starts every summer in late July and ends in early September - always on Labor Day.
Recently named as one of the world's top 10 sports venues by Sports Illustrated, Saratoga Race Course is also America's oldest thoroughbred race course. Established during the Lincoln Administration in 1863, Saratoga Race Course is a popular destination for horse racing fans and families alike. Maybe it's the popular giveaways, free concerts or Hollywood celebrities that keep them coming back for more, but one thing is for certain: Saratoga Race Course is all about the horses.
Starting with The Schuylerville on Opening Day and including such races as The Whitney and The Travers, Saratoga Race Course's "Summer Meet" calendar has something for everyone. But staunch traditionalists will tell you that to experience the true Saratoga Race Course - the "Breakfast at Saratoga" is an absolute must. The "Saratoga Sunrise Breakfast Buffet" has been a fan favorite since the post-Civil War era so it has to be a winner.
