About Arapahoe Park Racetrack

Arapahoe Park horse racetrack is located in Aurora, Colorado, and is easily accessible to the entire Denver area. Arapahoe Park has a seating capacity for 7,500 general admission spectators, the Clubhouse seats 600, and there is a 250-seat Director's Room. There is also a 40-space RV trailer park. The barn area and track open approximately one hour prior to racing for training.

Arapahoe Park is not rich in history. It first opened in 1984, quickly fell into bankruptcy and had to close. A new beginning came in 1991, when Senate Bill 99 was signed into law, authorizing horse and greyhound simulcasting for all racetracks in Colorado. This law was passed on the condition of one live race day for every three simulcast days. Upon this law passing, Racing Associates of Colorado leased Arapahoe Park for three years and renovation of the track and facility began. In 1992, the track re-opened to an impressive crowd of more than 111,000 spectators.

Arapahoe Park is located within Wembley Park and plays host to the Colorado Derby. Whether it is a day of horse racing, greyhound racing, or some other activity, Wembley Park is a perfect location for all kinds of events.
