What does ML mean?

In horse racing ML refers to Morning Line odds, which are set by professional handicappers before any wagering begins. They are informational only and aren't used to calculate payouts. Instead, your payout is based on the final odds, which may bear no relationship at all to the Morning Line. See How Your Payout is Determined for more information.

Do you post live odds/video?

We are currently working on incorporating live odds into our Racebook product. At this time we can refer you to CBSSportsLine.com, where you can view live video as well as live updating odds.

Do you offer handicapping information or contests?

At this time we don't provide any handicapping information or contests. However, we are striving to improve our Racebook product and will inform you of any future developments.

What is a coupled entry?

Two or more horses owned by the same stable or trained by the same trainer can run together as a single betting unit. Coupled entries have the same number (e.g., 1 and 1A; 2 and 2A), and when you bet on one of the horses you also get the others. If one of the horses wins, your bet on another horse in the coupled entry is considered a win as well. For example, suppose you you bet on the #2 horse to win and the ensuing race result is 2A-3-1. Your bet on the #2 horse is a winner because #2 is considered the same horse as #2A.

How soon before a race can I place a bet?

We start offering races for wagering as early as 9:00 a.m. EST on the day of the race. In special cases, races are available for wagering one day in advance.

How late (i.e., how close to the start of a race) can I place a bet?

You can place wagers right up to the official post time (MTP), which is when the horses enter the starting gate.

How do I change the stake amount?

Once you have selected one or more check boxes in the race pane, click Add to My Ticket. Your bet(s) are added to your ticket, and you can then modify the stake amount.

What are the minimum and maximum bet limits?

Minimum bet limits are always $1.00. Maximum bet limits vary depending on the track and the bet type. When you modify the stake amount for your bet, you will see an error message if you enter an amount that exceeds the limit. Additionally, if you place two or more identical bets on the same race (e.g., two Win bets on the #2 horse) and the total bet amount exceeds the limit, you will see an error message when you attempt to place your ticket.

Can I place a horse racing wager over the phone?

Yes, phone wagering is now available up until two minutes before the official post time (MTP). Call 1-888-263-0000 to place your wagers by phone. Our hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight (EST).

Can I cancel or change my bet?

No. You can't cancel or modify your bet in any way once it has been received and accepted by Bodog Poker, Casino, Sportsbook and Racebook. This policy is strictly enforced. As you are responsible for all of your wagers, make sure that you review and confirm all bet details before clicking Place My Ticket.

If I live in the same state as the track, can I still place wagers there?

Yes, Bodog has no restrictions on this issue.

Where can I see that my bet has been accepted?

After you click Place My Ticket, you will be notified that your bet has been placed successfully. You can also confirm the details of your bet in your eCash statement—click the Manage Account link and then click the eCash Statement link in the left navigation bar of the My Account page.

Where can I find the changes/scratches for a race I've wagered on?

Changes and scratches are posted on the race pane for the race, which is updated every minute.

How can I view my pending wagers?

To display a list of everything you have bet on that is yet to close, click the Manage Account link and then click the Open Bets link in the left navigation bar of the My Account page. Click Print Open Bets if you want to print the list. Click Update Open Bets if a bet you've placed isn't showing up in the list yet.

Where can I find the results of a race I've wagered on?

Once the race is deemed official, click Results beside the race you bet on. The horses that ran, the numbers of any horses for which a refund will be granted and the payout for each type of wager that was offered on the selected race are displayed. If you want to verify the results, go to www.equibase.com. Click Results in the left navigation bar of the home page and then click Quick Results, where you will find a list of tracks and races for the day.

How soon are bets graded and when is my account updated?

We grade bets as soon as we receive confirmed results and payout information, which is normally 10 to 25 minutes after a race has run.

Why was my wager voided?

You can place wagers right up to the official post time of a race (MTP), but on occasion (because of the uncertainties of Internet connectivity that are beyond our control) a wager will be accepted past the official post time. As per our rules, any wagers placed after the official post time will be deemed void and your money will be refunded. You can verify the time you placed your wager in your eCash statement. You can verify the official post time at www.equibase.com.

Do you pay full track odds?

We pay full track odds with per race payout limits, which vary by racetrack. As a general rule, the bigger the track, the higher the payout limit. See Track List and Payout Limits for a complete list of the tracks on which we offer races. The tracks are divided into four categories: Category A pays a maximum of $30,000 per race; Category B pays a maximum of $15,000 per race; Category C pays a maximum of $10,000 per race; and Category D pays a maximum of $5,000 per race.

What happens when a horse I've wagered on is scratched?

If you wagered on a horse before it was scratched, Bodog follows the official payout results posted by the host track. See Scratch Rules for more information.

Do you offer consolation payouts?

When you place a Daily Double, Pick 3 or Pick 4 wager, you will receive a consolation payout, if the host track offers one, when your horse scratches in one leg of your ticket and all of the other legs win. Additionally, if the track payout on a race pays to ALL (when nobody who bet into the track's betting pool has a winning ticket), you will receive one consolation payout per winning combination.

What are your rebates and when are they paid? Do they require a rollover?

We pay 3% on all straight (Win, Place and Show) wagers and 5% on all exotic wagers. Rebates are issued automatically every Tuesday by 3:00 p.m. EST and are based on your handle for the previous week (Tuesday through Monday). They require a one-time rollover only. See Horse Betting Rebates for further information.
