This series had produced 17 out of 20 winners that went on to become year-end champions. In 2008, Stardom Bound was the 8/5 favorite and came from way behind to win it at a time of 1:40.99. Dream Express came in second while Sky Diva took third place.

The one-mile, $1 million Breeders' Cup® Juvenile Fillies Turf was run for the first time in 2008 and was part of "Female Championship Day", the first day of the Breeders' Cup where all five of the races for female horses were carded together. It won't be eligible for classification as a graded stakes race until next year. Like the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, the Juvenile Fillies Turf is limited to 12 starters. In 2008, Maram won it at a time of 1:35.15 while Heart Shaped came in second and Laragh took third place.

It was an interesting race, given that there are few 1 1/2-mile dirt races in North America besides the Belmont Stakes, and attracted a field of 8 horses. The European horse, Sixties Icon, was sent off as the 7/5 favorite, but in the end the race was won by Muhannak at a time of 2:28.24. Church Service placed second, while Big Booster came in third.
